Professional Learning

As a regional Teacher Development School, KPS are responsible for providing and brokering professional learning in response to regional needs and requests for support. The TDS team works closely with Statewide Services, Goldfields Education Regional Office, network principals, principals, teachers and external agencies.

We believe collaboration and collegiality are vital for system-wide improvement and are working closely with a number of schools on various projects.

During 2014 we are presenting a number of TDS initiated professional learning opportunities.
These include;

  • Australian Curriculum Talks (ACT) which are held on Wednesday of weeks three and nine each term.
  • Year Seven transition sundowners, held once a term on Thursday of week seven.
At the request of schools and networks, we also provide and coordinate professional learning, work shadowing and classroom observations around the Australian Curriculum. Stay tuned for further information, as we often open these events to the broader educational community.

KPS is beginning to experiment with online delivery of professional learning through the SABA (previously known as Centra) interface.
